Ricoh Europe Scoops Community Award For Volunteering Programme
Ricoh Europe, London, 20 June 2014 – Ricoh Europe PLC has been awarded the accolade of a ‘Highly Commended’ certificate at the Westminster Community Awards 2014 for its employee volunteering programme. Run jointly by Westminster City Council and Volunteer Centre Westminster, the Awards recognise businesses that have made a positive impact in the central London district through an outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Ricoh Europe launched its employee volunteering programme in its London Head Office in April 2013. Since its inception, the programme has supported charities and schools in and around Westminster with Ricoh Europe employees sharing a range of key skills. From April 2013 to March 2014 volunteers from the company helped a total of 11 charities, supporting over 130 individuals. Ricoh representatives accepted the award at a ceremony in front of over 300 charity workers, business people and politicians.
Ricoh’s overall corporate sustainability approach has also been recognised by three of the most credible ratings in the world: Dow Jones Sustainability Index, the FTSE4Good Index Series and Oekom Corporate Ratings.
