Ricoh to build $90m plant

2008 – Bangkok, ThailandRicoh has said that it is planning to invest
over $90 million on a new laser and MFP production plant in
Thailand.The facility will be located in the city of Amata in
Thailand’s eastern province of Rayong. Construction is projected to
begin in August 2008, with the plant operational by September
2009.Production output at the plant will start at 20,000 units per
month, though Ricoh has said that it will have capacity of 140,000
units per month, substantially increasing the company’s overall
capacity and reducing its dependence on production from China.
