Ricoh To Lay Off 70 Employees At Oregon U.S. Facility

    By the Associated Press

Ricoh Co., the Japanese printer and copier company, said today that it plans to lay off 70 employees later this year at a facility in Tigard.

In a letter to the state, the company says it is “planning to integrate certain of its business units,” triggering the job cuts. Ricoh wrote that the layoffs will begin July 31 and be complete by the end of October.

The first round of layoffs at the end of July includes sales, billing and service jobs, as well as various administrative positions, according to the letter.

Ricoh did not immediately respond to an inquiry seeking details about its Tigard operation and the reasons for the layoffs.
