    A Convenient Photocopier

    Riso
energy efficient copying machinesWith global warming, the effects of
climate change and environmentalism in the news every day people are
constantly seeking new ways to reduce their carbon footprint and reduce
the amount of energy they need in their everyday lives. Digital
printing manufacturer RISO is leading the charge by offering a range of
energy-efficient copying machines for the office so employers can do
their share in going green. The RISO machines use just 3.5 amps of
electricity when they’re on and when they are producing copies draw
about the same amount of energy as four 100-watt light bulbs. Instead
of using toner, the RISO Print-Duplicators also use a heatless
plate-based ink-on-paper technology for making copies. By digitizing
the ink around the paper-like material wrapped around the ink cylinder
inside the machine and then rolling the master on paper, the ink gets
pressed onto the paper by pressure instead of the high energy
comsumption method of heating toner and then fusing it onto the copy.
Further complimenting the environment, the Printer-Duplicators can use
a number of different recycled papers and uses a soy-based ink.RISO has
eight Printer-Duplicators in its lineup and they can compete on deliver
speed with traditional toner machines. For example, the RZ990 model can
print up to 180 pages per minute in black-and-white mode while the
MZ790 can deliver up to 150 pages in one or two colors.
