Samsung Cartridges Show Strong Growth through 2009
LYRA RESEARCH
Lyra
anticipates that the presence of aftermarket cartridges will grow among
all printer engine manufacturers through the end of 2009, with the
largest growth expected for Samsung engines. Increasing shipments of
printers from Samsung’s low-end monochrome laser printer line are
primarily responsible for this growth. Lyra anticipates a 17 percent
compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for toner cartridges shipped for
Samsung engines from the years 2004 through 2009. Brother is also
expected to experience aftermarket cartridge growth, though not quite
as strong. Lyra anticipates that the CAGR for cartridges shipped for
Brother devices during the same time period will be 5 percent.
