London, UK – 5th February – Samsung Electronics is today taking a major step towards addressing enterprise demand for stronger office convergence, with the introduction of a new solution that helps businesses build smarter, more efficient offices with easier connectivity.

 

Leveraging its strengths in mobility and its unparalleled ability to develop products that bring together a wide range of advanced technology, Samsung is launching a brand new A3 multi-function printer (MFP) that empowers businesses to transform their professional workspaces. It will change the way offices function, boosting productivity and establishing a new smart workplace that is powerfully efficient and extraordinarily simple to use.

The new MultiXpress 7, which launches today, is exceptionally fast. It is the only A3 MFP on the market today powered by a Quadcore CPU. This allows the printer to power through documents, faxes, and scans with ease and speed. It also boasts a newly improved Smart UX 2.0 which lets users preview and edit files directly from the printer before printing.

Part of Samsung's ground-breaking innovative print portfolio, the MX7 launch marks an important step towards truly mobile-centric print solutions, and area Samsung is uniquely placed to address.

Increasing efficiency and productivity for enterprise customers

The MX7's Quadcore CPU (+DSDF) increases efficiency and reduces wait times. The MX7 takes only 18 seconds to boot and a mere 12 seconds to wake up from sleep mode. It also helps drive great image quality with 1200 dpi printing even while running at full speed. It only takes three seconds to print the first page on a monochrome document and 4.5 seconds for colour prints, while also ensuring sharp and precise printing.

The MX7 is also capable of a significant reduction in scan time, with and industry-leading scan speed of up to 120 single-sided images per minute, and up to 240 double-sided images. It also supports faster in-office connections with an 802.11ac-capable network chip, which is three times faster than the older 802.11n standard. The MX7 also boasts Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, giving users "always-on" connectivity, so they can connect and print with ease as soon as they are in close proximity to the device. 

Providing a smarter and secure working environment with Smart UX 2.0

The MX7 also features an enhanced 10.1-inch Android-powered display that runs the Samsung Smart UX 2.0 experience. Users can also pivot the user-friendly Smart UX Center display to get true document views, and customise the experience with apps available for download from Samsung's own printer app store. Enterprise users can select from a variety of smart apps designed to enhance their operations, including Workbook Composer and Smart Service.

The Smart UX Center also has a Workspace Cloud feature that provides document views and edits on any device, providing more working environment versatility. SCP Pro is also supported, and there are over 20 ISV solutions that deliver seamless integration into existing office cloud and server networks. For smarter security, enterprise users can benefit from the Tray Locking Kit, the industry's first-ever digital security feature that secures printed paperwork by only letting authorised personnel in proximity to the device to print confidential documents.

The MX7 is designed for heavy-duty work environments and is capable of printing up to 300,000 pages a month, and comes with an optional large toner cartridge that gives users up to 30,000 pages of colour or 45,000 pages in mono. Other time-saving and cost-efficient add-ons include an automated document stapler capable of stapling 60 sheets of paper or an 80-page booklet.

The MX7 will be launched in in the UK in May 2015. Subsequent launches will follow throughout the year.
