“Just as we continue to lead the industry in security,* these new color
products, empowered with Open Systems Architecture, will lead the
market to new levels MFP network integration.”
“Sharp has beefed up
its office color offerings in the past year and we were impressed by
the full-featured performance of the MX Series products,” said Margie
Davis, managing director, BERTL. “The company is making a strong push
into the color space with these five new products and we look forward
to more introductions in the color space.”
BERTL publishes product
evaluation reviews on several hundred printers, fax, multifunctional,
color and production devices annually. Out of the hundreds of devices
reviewed, only a small number are recognized with the prestigious
Five-Star Exceptional rating. This rating is reserved for devices that
deliver an outstanding range of business-critical features/ functions,
are innovative, easy to use, well designed. It represents exceptional
value for the money for the device’s target user base.
Sharp’s
entire line of MX-Series products offer cost-effective color as well as
advanced functionality, available previously on Sharp’s monochrome
models. The models that received BERTL awards are the first four of
eight new models in a color MFP (multifunctional peripheral) series
that feature the forthcoming Sharp Open Systems Architecture (Sharp
OSA) development platform for seamless integration with network
applications. Sharp OSA opens the door to a broad array of value-added
functionality and flexibility, all designed to deliver the power of
customization to the customer. Sharp OSA leverages the inherent
interoperability of Web services design to enable Sharp, its dealer
network and ISV partners to better meet customer needs.
Since MFPs
have become an integral part of the networked office, IT administrators
are demanding more and more advanced security features. Sharp offers
several layers of network and data security to deploy digital copying,
printing, scanning and faxing safely in any business or government
environment. The award-winning* security for Sharp’s network-attached
MFPs can be enhanced through data security kits, which encrypt document
data using 128-bit encryption and erase the memory of a document on the
hard drive by overwriting encrypted data up to seven times.
To
further assist customers with Sharp MFP and digital document products,
all models come with 24-hour support from My Sharp, a dedicated online
customer training Web site.
