Suspect in Gloucester Township printer ink dumping surrenders, police say
GLOUCESTER TWP. — A Sewell man has admitted to dumping loads of printer ink cans in a wooded area in the township, police said, but others who have dumped garbage in the area are still on the loose.
Joseph Coghlan III, 18, walked into the Gloucester Township police station and told detectives he’d dumped the old Superior Printing Inks cans near a model airplane field in the township’s Lakeland section, police said.
The admission came, they explained, after news media relayed a police bulletin on the cans and other garbage dumped in the woods off Collier Drive.
Coghlan was charged with two counts of illegal dumping under a township ordinance and was released pending a court appearance.
A pickup truck of interest shown in the bulletin was not involved in Coghlan’s alleged dumping of the printer ink, police said. But it’s still a vehicle of interest possibly connected to the dumping of other garbage at the same spot.
That vehicle of interest is a white Ford F-250 short bed pickup with New Jersey tags and a multi-ball Draw-Tite trailer hitch. The case is still under investigation.
Anyone with any information on where the truck or its operator can be found is asked to contact police at 856-228-4500 or the township police anonymous tip line at 856-842-5560.
