Sydney Becomes epicenter For Fuji Xerox
    SEP2006:
Australian Minister for IT, Helen Coonan, steps out to provide Fuji
Xerox and Sydney with a centre of competence. Eyebrows remain
unraised.Senator the Hon Helen Coonan, Minister for Communications,
Information Technology and the Arts opened Fuji Xerox Australia’s
‘Centre of Competence’ or what it calls its ‘epicenter’ (complete with
US spelling) at the Australian Technology Park, Sydney. The Fuji Xerox
Sydney epicenter is a best-of-breed amalgamation of digital print
technologies and services, state-of-the-art enablers, communication and
printing industry experts and dynamic architectural and interactive
interior concepts – all under one roof. The Sydney facility adds to Fuji
Xerox’s epicenters in Tokyo, Singapore and Shanghai. One of the key
roles of the epicenter is to showcase end-to-end solutions and
facilitate collaboration between Fuji Xerox and its third party
partners. The centre facilitates file and application testing,
application development, business development and education
initiatives, training programs and provides a forum for Fuji Xerox’s
customers, partners and industry associations to collaborate in this
space with their own customers and business associates. The epicenter
also reinforces the company’s commitment to the graphic arts and
printing industries through the exploration and development of
web-integration, personalisation, improved workflow processes and
cross-media communication.Newly appointed CEO of Fuji Xerox Australia,
Andy Lambert hosted the event, told the waiting media and dignitaries,
“The establishment of the epicenter in Australia marks one of the most
significant developments in the history of Fuji Xerox Australia. It
blends best-in-class technology with industry knowledge and experience
and enables us to truly articulate the value that we can offer both the
industry and our customers. In addition, the epicenter also provides us
with a vehicle to transfer knowledge and expertise across the region
providing our staff, and in particular our customers, with access to
the world’s best practices and solutions.”The epicenter caters for
visitors with vastly different requirements, ranging from the
traditional digital printing environment to offset operations looking
for options in the digital printing environment, through to one-on-one,
short run colour communication and print providers focused on improving
production efficiency.Dedicated, solution-based zones have been created
within the epicenter to provide visitors with different stages of
guidance, which will assist them to review and evaluate new business
opportunities for development and growth. From the immersion zone,
through to the presentation zone, digital pre-press zone, production
systems and business partner zones, each visitor travels on a
personalised journey created especially for them.Fuji Xerox’s industry
leading range of workflow and print technologies, from the DocuColor
5065 to the flagship iGen3 Digital Production Press as well as
highlight colour platforms and Fuji Xerox continuous feed solutions are
highlight features of the epicenter. The back-end of the entire
operation, called eTools, boasts some of the industry’s most
interactive systems and accommodates the logistics required to tailor a
relevant customer experience. eTools includes an online booking system
as well as an applications warehouse, which can send and receive best
practices amongst the regional epicenter sä.The concept for the Fuji
Xerox epicenter is based on Fuji Xerox Australia’s Technology Centre at
the Australian Technology Park. First opened in 1997, the facility has
enabled the company to emulate true client environments as well as to
successfully test and refine proposed solutions for its customers. The
epicenter has taken this concept to a new level and is a long-term
strategic investment that re-enforces Fuji Xerox’s commitment to the
    graphic arts and printing industries.
