Taiwan market: 2Q07 shipment volume of single-function printers down 11% on quarter, 20% on year
    [
October 2007]There were 111,101 single-function printers of all types
shipped in the Taiwan market during the second quarter of 2007,
decreasing by 11% on quarter and by 20% on year, according to
International Data Corporation (IDC) Taiwan. The on-quarter and on-year
drops were mainly attributable to a large decrease in sales volume of
single-function printers due to increasing replacement by
multi-function peripherals/printers (MFPs) as well as delayed
government procurements, according to IDC Taiwan analyst Grace Fu. In
contrast, the corresponding shipment volume of MFPs grew on quarter and
on year, Fu noted.Hewlett-Packard (HP) led in shipment volumes for both
color and monochrome laser printers, IDC Taiwan indicated. Seiko Epson
was the largest vendor for inkjet printers, followed by HP, Canon and
    Lexmark.
