Printersdirect Announces Tangent MTW Incorporated As Investment Partner
LITHIA SPRINGS, GEORGIA – Printersdirect, a world leader in remanufacturing laser printers for the managed print services industry, has announced that marketing communications and software application development firm, Tangent MTW Incorporated has joined the extended Printersdirect team as a shareholder.
The partnership between the two companies further supports Printersdirect in the expansion of their efforts into the managed print and managed services arena, as the two principals of Tangent MTW Incorporated are well versed within the industry.
Norman McConkey and Laura Kittner are the founding principals of Tangent MTW Incorporated and both have been paramount in shaping the direction of the managed print industry over the past several years. Mr. McConkey has 20 years of experience within IT software development, most recently as the President and CEO of PrintFleet Inc until his departure in October 2009 to pursue the Tangent venture. Ms. Kittner also served as a founding executive within PrintFleet Inc, and in March of 2010 launched the industry’s first MPS channel driven media firm, The Imaging Channel, where she continues to serve as Editorial Director, in addition to her shared role as owner and director at Tangent.
“Remanufactured printer sales over the next 24 months will experience the same dynamic growth that our industry experienced with remanufactured toner cartridges earlier this decade” explained Norman McConkey. “The financial, environmental and performance benefits of remanufactured hardware are compelling to both MPS dealers and their customers.”
Operating as a full service marketing communications, brand management and small scale software application development firm, Tangent MTW Incorporated will be working with the Printersdirect executive team to refine the Printersdirect brand, grow this brand within the print and imaging industry, expand sales and distribution channels, and implement a marketing communications campaign focused on customer retention and brand awareness.
“Remanufactured printer hardware is rapidly becoming an essential component of the MPS providers toolbox of services. Our remanufactured HP and Lexmark hardware offers dealers a very attractive alternative to new, that achieves a far lower total cost of ownership and at the same time, a much higher profit per page” explained Christian Pepper, Vice President at Printersdirect. “The principals at Tangent MTW have a proven track record of developing industry changing technologies and we are excited to benefit from their experience as they help Printersdirect and the product category rise to the next level”.
