The (Slowly) Changing Role of Digital Copiers in the Office
Revenue from sales of
monochrome digital copiers is declining, but color copier revenue is
increasing. As a result, copier vendors are concentrating their efforts
on color copiers, releasing a flurry of new products. In 2004, the
color copier market was in its initial high-growth phase with many
early adopters purchasing these devices. The honeymoon is over in 2005,
however, and vendor competition is intensifying as segmentation
increases in terms of black-to-color output ratios, black-to-color
speed ratios, color quality, and price.
