Thermal Fax Ribbon – HIPPA Violation?

We collect empties at a local hospital and they don’t want us to take any more of the Brother Thermal Fax cores. If you look at the spent rolls of film, you can clearly read all the faxes that were sent with patients names, numbers, etc! They are afraid that this is a potential HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)violation. I assume they will need to change out all those thermal faxes now. Actually we only picked these up as a favor when we pick up the other empties. I would imagine this could be a security violation in other institutions, also.
