The National Achievement Award is given to the Inkspot franchisee with the highest overall achievement against their targets.

Kleo Mandikos, director, Inkspot Franchising said it is the company’s toughest internal award.

“Chris has done a great job to exceed various operational targets from revenue to customer service through to starting to become a same day supplier to local businesses.

“It is a sought after award because it means the franchisee really has got their finger on the pulse of the business and is steering it in the right direction,” he said.

Chris said a number of other franchisees had contacted him to congratulate his hard work, and he explains his Inkspot kiosk is here to stay.

“As a long term peninsula local my goal was, and remains, growing a successful business that services customers and companies across the Peninsula.

"With the Freeway extension the population down here is going to keep growing and we need more local businesses to service and supply the growing population as well as providing local employment opportunities,” he said.

Chris opened his Inkspot franchise at Centro Mornington in September last year and it sells ink cartridges, toners and ink refills.

John Epskamp receives his national performance award from Kleo Mandikos

In 2011, after 20 years as a policeman at Charlton in north central Victoria, John, who is a Bendigo local, decided it was time for a career change.

He went on to invest in an Inkspot franchise with his wife Jolanda, and the couple are now responsible for the Inkspot kiosk in Bendigo’s Market Square, which sells ink, ink refills and toners.

John said there is no secret to his franchise’s success, just hard work.

“I have had quite a few phone calls from fellow Inkspot franchisees from around Australia both congratulating us and asking what the secret has been. There is no secret though, just hard work and good customer service.”

While he admits he regretted his decision to leave the police force “every day for the first few months” it seems there is no looking back for this husband and wife team.

“It was a big risk, but the people and businesses of Bendigo have responded well to our focus on good old fashion customer service.

“We are really looking forward to growing even further and getting the annual performance award as well,” added John.
