U.K. Leads European Imaging and Printing Supplies Market Growth
    August , 2005
InfoTrends/CAP Ventures has released three new country overviews examining the digital imaging and document solutions supplies markets in France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Each report provides an economic overview for the country; details market shares for paper, specialty media, toner, ink, and ribbons; and projects regional growth rates from 2003-2008.”Despite some key similarities amongst the three largest European supplies markets, the U.K., France, and Germany also have different characteristics,” commented Norah Seery, a Director at InfoTrends/CAP Ventures. “This means that a clear understanding is needed of each individual market in order to tailor an approach to these distinctive markets. These reports provide the knowledge tools to do just that.”
The U.K. is one of the fastest growing supplies markets in Europe, and is expected to experience a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.5% from 2003-2008. This growth is representative of the healthy state of the U.K. economy.
    In
Germany, supplies revenues are expected to increase slightly through 2008. Slowing economic performance and reduced consumer spending are obstacles vendors in this market are facing. Nevertheless, as with other countries, there is a bright spot in this market with inkjet and page printer supplies. Accounting for 79% of total supplies revenues, inkjet and page printer supplies revenues currently dominate the German market and are expected to continue to do so.
The French market, along with the U.K. and Germany, is one of the largest communication supplies markets in Europe, as well as one of the most mature. Inkjet, page printers, and copiers are main drivers of this region’s growth. Colour output will fuel growth for page printers and copiers, with the majority coming from page printers.
