Eastman Kodak spent $225,000 on 2Q lobbying
Eastman Kodak Co. spent $225,000 in the second quarter lobbying the federal government on issues such as button cell battery safety and immigration reform, according to a disclosure report.

That’s up from the $175,000 that the photography pioneer spent a year ago but below the $275,000 it spent in the first quarter of this year.

Eastman Kodak, which is based in Rochester, N.Y., has been scrambling to try to redefine itself in the digital arena. The company recently drew down $160 million from its credit line. Eastman Kodak has been burning through cash as it invests in digital inkjet printer businesses. It had $957 million in cash at the end of June and expects to cross back to profitability in 2012 after four years of losses.

Eastman Kodak also lobbied Congress as well as the Environmental Protection Agency, Securities & Exchange Commission, Labor Department, Treasury Department, Commerce Department and others on topics including the EPA Regulatory Relief Act, the Best Practices Act and the America Invests Act.

The report, which was filed July 20 with the House clerk’s office, covered the April to June period.
