Xerox Canada Names a New President
Al Varney appointed president and CEO of Xerox Canada; Mandy Shapansky to retireAl Varney is the new president and CEO of Xerox Canada Ltd., of Mississauga, Ont.Varney replaces the outgoing Mandy Shapansky who announced her retirement effective January 1, 2015.
Varney was the former vice president of marketing for Xerox Canada and is known as a channel advocate. He returns to Canada after five-years in the U.S. where he served as president of Xerox North American Agent Operations.
Prior to that, Varney was the senior vice president for U.S. Client Operations. Varney first joined Xerox Canada in 1986 where he has held various positions in sales, marketing and general management.
In a prepared statement, Varney said Xerox is such a well-respected brand in Canada, offering market-leading business processes services and document management technology.
“I am excited to be back in Canada to continue Xerox’s growth in the market by working with clients on solutions that support them reaching their own business growth goals.”
As for Shapansky, she ran Xerox Canada for four years and brought a lot of profile for the document management vendor. Shapansky was named twice to the CDN Women of the IT Channel Ecosystem list as well as one of Canada’s Top 100 most powerful women in 2012
Shapansky spent nearly three decades with Xerox Canada leading the subsidiary’s business process services growth in the country along with building up Xerox’s market leadership in document management technology.
