Xerox Named ‘Tech Innovator’ By ‘Varbusiness’ Magazine
Xerox office products earn honors from independent research labs, IT publications.
WILSONVILLE, OR, Oct. 2005 – Xerox Corporation has been named “Tech Innovator of the Year” in the printing and imaging category by VARBusiness magazine, a leading industry publication for value-added resellers that market high-technology products, solutions and services.
Individual Honors
In addition, the magazine recognized the Xerox WorkCentre™ C2424 color multifunction system with a “Tech Innovator Award” in the Printing and Imaging/Peripherals category for “outstanding achievement in technology innovation.” The WorkCentre C2424, launched in March, is the industry’s first office color multifunction system with Xerox’s patented solid ink technology. Starting at $2,999, the WorkCentre C2424 delivers affordable color printing, copying and scanning.
The VARBusiness Tech Innovator Awards recognize outstanding achievement in technology innovation in 11 product and service categories from desktops to software. Winners were selected from over 500 entries by VARBusiness technology editors and a panel of judges from the reseller community.
“The Tech Innovator Awards define new growth opportunities for our solution-provider readers,” said VARBusiness editor Lawrence M. Walsh. “The WorkCentre C2424 represents breakthroughs in functionality and productivity that will benefit solution providers and, ultimately, their customers.”
Xerox was honored at an awards ceremony Oct. 20 at the XChange Tech Innovators Conference in San Francisco, a gathering of channel professionals.
“Xerox promotes successful channel partnerships by developing innovative document technology and making it available to our resellers,” said Tim Williams, president, Xerox Office Group. “As we continue to expand the products we market through resellers, this independent recognition reinforces our position as a market leader and industry partner.”
Praise and Recognition
Xerox’s line of office products – from digital copiers, printers and multifunction systems to content management software – continues to receive praise and recognition from industry-leading publications and independent research organizations such as PC Magazine, Better Buys for Business and InfoWorld. Recent honors include:
• An “Editor’s Choice” designation from PC Magazine for the Phaser™ 6300DN color laser printer.
• Three “Editor’s Choice” awards from Better Buys for Business for the CopyCentre™, WorkCentre and WorkCentre™ Pro 255, 265 and 275 digital copiers and multifunction systems.
• Xerox’s DocuShare™ 4.0 content management software received an “Excellent” rating – 8.8 out of 10 – in a review from InfoWorld, and it was named to KMWorld magazine’s list of “Trend-Setting Products of 2005.”
• The Phaser 7750 color laser printer received a “Highly Recommended” rating from Byte.com.
