Postcards to the front lines: Xerox uses FBR booth to rally support for Guard
Feb
06 Along with watching the pros and rocking the Birds Nest, fans at the
FBR Open also will be able to send a personal message to troops overseas.
Xerox Corp. is sponsoring “Postcards From Home” to say thanks to U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The
company will have a booth at the main entrance to the FBR Open at TPC
of Scottsdale, where fans can write a message to the troops.
The
cards were designed by four children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of
Scottsdale, and include flags, eagles, cactuses and messages such as
“United We Stand” and “Thank You.”
Xerox hopes to send at least
7,000 to the troops. The cards can be to no one in particular or to a
specific soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan if the writer has the name and
address.
“The thought was just to send a ‘thank you’ to men and
women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan,” said Toby Tobin, vice president
of Xerox sales operations for Arizona.
“What a great venue with all the people walking into FBR to walk by our booth and say thanks.”
