YORK -Office equipment maker Xerox Corp. spent $270,000 in the first
quarter to lobby on energy efficiency specifications, global warming
policy and other issues, according to a disclosure report.The Norwalk,
Conn.-based company also lobbied the federal government on legislation
related to research and development tax credits, as well as
manufacturing tax issues.Xerox lobbied on the Employee Retirement
Income Security Act, or ERISA, and health care issues. The company also
contacted the federal government on the World Trade Organization’s
information technology agreement.In the first three months of the year,
the company lobbied Congress, the White House, the Environmental
Protection Agency and the U.S. Trade Representative, according to the
report filed April 18 with the House clerk’s office.
