Xerox Corp. officials announced today plans to add 400 full-time customer service jobs in Nashville, a number that would triple the Connecticut-based company’s current employee presence in the market.

According to a release, the new hires will work from a 50,263-square-foot call center located at 801 Royal Parkway near Nashville International Airport. Relatedly, the company will offer at that location on May 16 on open house to begin the recruiting effort.

Xerox will interview prospective employees through Aug. 31, with candidates required to have a high school diploma and six months of customer service experience. Those hired will provide technical support for Xerox clients.

Today’s announcement follows an August 2014 announcement that Xerox would hire about 100 people to service one of the company’s health insurance customers.

Xerox established a Nashville presence in 2006, with about 200 of its 800 Tennessee employees working locally. Many are at the Highland Ridge Office Park near the airport, with the company also having a presence in the 3322 Building in the West End corridor.

“Every day, companies rely on Xerox to provide a consistently superior customer experience,” Kinch Glisson, Xerox general manager of Nashville operations, said in the release. “Nashville’s great resource of talented employees has helped Xerox continue providing the quality service our clients expect.”

Mayor Karl Dean said Xerox’s willingness to create additional jobs “speaks to the skilled workforce in our area and our high quality of life.”

Through about 50,000 agents providing customer care services, Xerox handles more than 2.5 million contact center interactions daily in 175 global customer care centers, in 30 languages. The company has more than 140,000  employees and does business in more than 180 countries.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Xerox has announced it will hire 500 new employees in its local customer care center.

Coco Salazar, a spokeswoman for the company, tells Eyewitness News the company started the hiring process this month and hopes to have all 500 positions filled by the end of August.

Applicants need at least six months customer service experience, a high school diploma or G.E.D., and must be at least 18 years old.

A recruiting open house is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, at 401 34th St.

Recruiters will be on hand to help with the application process and offer information.

Walk-in applicants are also welcome during regular business hours at the 34th Street facility.
