    Xerox to reduce Irish workforce
    July 2007 The international company Xerox has announced that it is to reduce its Irish workforce by more than half.
    However under an outsourcing agreement no jobs will be lost with 900 workers being transferred to IBM.The staff being transferred will work in the IBM’s contact centre in West Dublin. Xerox said that no jobs will be lost and that staff will continue to work at the same location and under the same terms and conditions.

    July 2007 Xerox is to reduce its Irish workforce by more than half. 900 staff who work in the company’s contact centre in its West Dublin facility are to be transferred to IBM as part of an outsourcing agreement.Xerox says no jobs will be lost and staff will continue to work at the same location and under the same terms and conditions. Xerox is one of the world’s leading providers of printing products and services.The company has been in Ireland for 40 years and employs 1,700 people in two facilities – at Ballycoolin in Blanchardstown in Dublin and in Dundalk.Over the past 12 months Xerox has been carrying out a review of its operations. This afternoon, the outcome of that review was announced to staff.All staff affected work for the call centre in Ballycoolin. The remaining staff in Ballycoolin, 350 employed in Dundalk and another 100 employees who are based throughout the country will not be affected by the review.
