    Xerox Wins $93 Million Navy Contract
    Xerox said it will provide installation and custom mounting of printing equipment on the Navy ships, as well as training, supplies, and worldwide service.
    Xerox has won a five-year, $93 million contract with the U.S. Navy to provide document support for its fleet of 283 ships.Under the contract announced Tuesday, Xerox said it will provide installation and custom mounting of printing equipment on the Navy ships, as well as training, supplies, and worldwide service support for nearly 3,000 devices and printer software.

    Xerox said that an employee works as a shipboard rider and travels on all ship missions to ensure equipment runs properly for 23 aircraft carriers and large-deck amphibious ships with onboard print shops. About 50 Xerox personnel who make up the Xerox Deployable Support Group will serve 260 more surface ships and submarines when they are docked at ports around the world.”Every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces has document demands that can emulate that of a large corporate enterprise,” Greg Jones, senior VP of public sector operations for Xerox, said in a statement. “Whether it’s at sea or on land, our goal is to provide the most up-to-date technology that makes document technology seamless for the Navy.”Xerox also has committed to honoring U.S. troops through its Let’s Say Thanks program.
