Xmas Grinch Canon Announces Patent Infringement Complaint in Germany
TOKYO, December 15, 2014 — Canon announced today the filing of a patent infringement complaint in Germany with the District Court of Düsseldorf against “ARMOR SA,” “ARTECH GmbH,” the “Pelikan Vertriebsgesellschaft mbh & Co. KG” and other Pelikan companies for infringement of the German portion of Canon’s European patent 2 087 407 through the offering and sale of certain toner cartridges for use in various models of Hewlett-Packard laser beam printers. The patent relates to, inter alia, a drum unit to be used in a process cartridge. Canon is seeking injunctive relief and damages.
Throughout the development, sales and marketing process, Canon respects the intellectual property rights of other companies and individuals and expects others to do the same. Canon remains committed to taking legal action against anyone who does not respect Canon’s intellectual property rights.
