Reports from PrintPlanet, including its recent discussion on Xerox shipping-supply delays, describe orders remaining unshipped for days and previous Xerox backorders lasting weeks or months. Xerox’s own Shop Xerox inventory listings also show numerous supplies marked “Item Backordered” or carrying lead times of several weeks, confirming that availability problems are affecting specific Xerox supply SKUs. One potential factor is Xerox’s 2025 closure of its Dundalk, Ireland toner manufacturing operation, with toner production being transferred to other facilities, including Webster, New York; however, Xerox has not publicly confirmed that this manufacturing transition is the direct cause of current backorders.
