Ricoh Company, Ltd. has announced the sale of its sub-subsidiary, Ricoh Asia Industry (Shenzhen) Ltd., as part of a broader effort to improve asset efficiency and streamline operations. The Shenzhen-based unit, which historically manufactured office equipment such as printers, copiers, and multifunction devices, has been largely inactive since production was shifted to more modern facilities in China. By transferring its full equity stake, Ricoh will also pass along valuable factory site usage rights tied to the property, made transferable following a prior arbitration ruling. The transaction, valued at approximately 900 million RMB, is expected to generate a significant capital gain for the company, highlighting Ricoh’s ongoing shift away from legacy manufacturing sites toward a more optimized and financially efficient global production network.
