Injury Reported as Fire Breaks Out at Toner Cartridge Facility in Bulgaria.
The General Directorate for Fire Safety and Protection of the Population (GDPBZN) reported a troubling spike in fire incidents across the country, with 69 fires extinguished in the last 24 hours alone. Tragically, one of these incidents resulted in the death of a 65-year-old man.

Among the significant fires was a serious blaze in Pazardzhik, where a fire erupted in a toner cartridge processing workshop. This incident not only caused extensive damage but also left a 35-year-old man injured. The emergency response teams managed to contain the fire, but the impact on the facility and its workers was substantial.

In total, there were 22 fires that resulted in direct material damage. This includes 11 fires in residential buildings, one in industrial facilities, and six involving vehicles. The remaining incidents—47 in total—were categorized as fires without material damage, predominantly affecting dry grass, forest litter, and waste.

The GDPBZN continues to urge citizens to exercise caution and implement fire safety measures to prevent further incidents. As the dry season persists, the risk of fire remains a significant concern, and community awareness is essential in mitigating potential disasters.
