Epson’s ReadyPrint Flex Gets Pricier, Latest Subscription Changes.
Epson has announced a price increase for many of its ReadyPrint Flex ink subscription plans, with higher fees now applying to new customers. The entry-level price for the service has doubled, and some existing tariffs have been adjusted.

Key Changes for New Customers: The entry-level plan for new customers will now be priced at €1.99 for a 15-page package, replacing the previous 10-page package. The tariff structure has been updated, with higher monthly fees for most subscription levels. The only exceptions to the price increase are the larger plans (1,000 pages or more per month), which remain unaffected.

For Existing Customers: Changes will only apply if customers switch their tariff or upgrade to a different plan. Existing customers will not see any immediate changes unless they adjust their subscription.

Price Comparison with Competitors: As of November 2024,
    Epson’s ReadyPrint Flex
    subscription prices compare as follows:

HP Instant Ink: €1.49 for up to 10 pages per month
Epson ReadyPrint Flex: €1.99 for up to 15 pages per month
Canon PIXMA Print Plan: €2.99 for up to 30 pages per month
Brother EcoPro: €3.99 for up to 50 pages per month

While Epson’s entry-level pricing is now higher than HP’s, it remains competitive within the broader market. However, the price per additional page for the ReadyPrint Flex plan has increased by roughly 30%, with the cost for additional pages dropping slightly to €0.20 each (down from €0.25).

Larger Plans and Price Increases: For larger plans with 30, 50, 100, 300, or 500 pages per month, the price increase varies between 5% to 40% depending on the plan.

Epson’s offering remains the most cost-effective option for customers who print large volumes, with the price for additional pages still at just €0.04 each for customers using high-volume plans.

No Immediate Impact on Heavy Printers: Customers printing over 1,000 pages per month will see no changes to their pricing structure, as the larger plans remain unaffected by the price increase. For these users, Epson’s ReadyPrint Ecotank model remains an affordable choice, especially when combined with the ink subscription.

Price Changes and Existing Customers: Epson previously raised its prices about two years ago, introducing an entry-level package for just €0.99 a month for up to 10 pages. However, with this new pricing update, this option has been discontinued. For existing customers, any tariff changes (whether upgrades or downgrades) will be subject to the new prices.

New customers will see a price increase, particularly for the entry-level plan, which now costs €1.99 for up to 15 pages. Larger plans for higher page counts will see moderate to significant price hikes. The price per page for small print volumes has increased, but heavy users printing 1,000 pages or more per month will still find Epson’s subscription the most affordable option.

Existing customers won’t be impacted unless they make changes to their plans.

For most existing customers, the changes will have minimal immediate impact unless they switch plans. However, anyone looking to upgrade or downgrade their subscription will face the new pricing structure. Epson’s flexibility in allowing monthly changes and the ability to cancel or adjust plans without long-term commitments still makes it a strong choice for many users, particularly those with higher printing needs.

Despite the price adjustments, Epson’s offerings remain a competitive option in the ink subscription market—especially for customers who print frequently.
