FedEx says it will return to customers any refunds it gets back from Trump’s illegal tariffs
FedEx announced that it will return to customers any refunds it receives from tariffs imposed under the Trump administration that were later ruled illegal. The tariffs, which were applied to imported goods, were challenged in court and found to have been imposed under powers the president did not have, making them unlawful. FedEx often pays such tariffs upfront on behalf of its customers and then charges them back, so the company has filed lawsuits to recover the money. While the process for issuing refunds is not yet finalized, FedEx pledged that any money it recovers will be passed directly to the customers who originally paid the fees, ensuring they are not out of pocket for the contested charges.
