Japan’s Funai to Repair, Resell Used Printers and Electronics in U.S. on Amazon.
Starting this summer in the U.S., Funai Electric of Japan is set to launch a program to collect, repair, and resell various home electronics, capitalizing on the increasing market for pre-owned goods.

7R Park Wrocław West II is fully leased, Yusen Logistics leased up the entire space | Yusen Logistics | Italy
In collaboration with Yusen Logistics from Japan and J.B. Hunt Transport Services from the U.S., Funai will mend items like televisions that have been returned to retailers due to defects and manage their collection and warehousing.

By fiscal year 2029, Funai is targeting sales of up to $500 million in the U.S. market. The evaluation of the returned products will be conducted by staff from Yusen and J.B. Hunt, with those requiring parts or repairs being sent to Funai’s repair centers. These restored items will then be sold on Amazon.com and other outlets at prices up to 20% lower than brand-new models.

Initially, the program will feature 50 different products, such as televisions and printers, with plans to broaden the range to include PCs, smartphones, and more. To optimize the logistics of transporting consumer electronics, the trio plans to set up 10 collection centers by the end of fiscal 2025. Funai has also innovated a new system to manage the inventory and refurbishment details of secondhand electronics, enhancing oversight across various locations. Besides offering products under its own label, Funai also manufactures electronics for partner companies through original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreements.Funai Corporation Inc. | ContactCenterWorld.com
