A reshuffle of one of Drupa 2024’s new ‘digital’ halls could be imminent as space that had last week been allocated to Xerox is now showing as grey – or currently unallocated – after the manufacturer “decided to not exhibit” at the event. The hall plan for Drupa 2024 was released on the show’s website last week and confirmed the locations and size of the stands taken by the industry’s biggest manufacturers and suppliers.

Xerox had been included on the initial hall plan with a substantial presence in hall 8b, but at the time of writing today (22 September), the space – next to Konica Minolta – had been greyed out, while a search for Xerox on the exhibitor list returned no results. Its booth space at the last show had been around 2,000sqm.

A company spokesperson told Printweek today: “As our business continues to evolve, we remain committed to investing in our production print clients, partners, and prospects, but have decided to not exhibit at Drupa 2024. We thank the conference organizers for their years of support and for continuing to bring the print industry together. Print remains an important part of our business, and we will continue to support our network through thought leadership, Xerox-led global events, new product innovations, and client-centric trainings and demos.”

Fujifilm, which at the last show was located next to long-term partner Xerox, is currently located at the base of hall 8b, and appears to have taken extra space to support its much-expanded portfolio since the last show.
Printweek had initially approached Xerox for comment earlier this month after sources said the manufacturer had decided not to exhibit at Drupa. That speculation has now been confirmed. An industry source commented: “The space that Xerox had is a prime position and you could imagine that Konica Minolta and Fujifilm would be interested in all or some of it.”

Messe Düsseldorf had not yet commented at the time of writing.
At the last in-person Drupa, in 2016, Xerox had a sizeable presence in hall 8b, and was marking its move into the sheetfed inkjet sector with the official unveiling of its Brenva HD model, alongside the web-fed Trivor 2400 inkjet press.

Drupa will run at Messe Düsseldorf from Tuesday 28 May to Friday 7 June 2024 and the largest stand areas have been booked by HP and Koenig & Bauer.
The total number of exhibitors confirmed to date has not been revealed by Drupa, but there are currently 1,149 companies listed on Drupa’s exhibitor section. More information on the show is available at: drupa.com.
