Ricoh USA, Inc. is taking steps to collect on a $2.1 million default judgment it won earlier this summer against Perfect Output, LLC. The judgment stems from a February 2025 lawsuit in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where Ricoh alleged Perfect Output failed to pay for equipment and services under a contractual agreement.
Perfect Output did not respond to the lawsuit, prompting the court to enter default and award Ricoh the full amount in July. On August 11, Ricoh registered that Pennsylvania judgment in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. Registering the judgment allows Ricoh to use Kansas courts to pursue collection remedies such as garnishments, liens, or asset seizures. The move underscores how interstate enforcement enables creditors to collect across state lines when debtors have assets in other jurisdictions.
