    Ricoh will start producing printing systems in its new Ricoh Manufacturing (China) Ltd. plant in July. at the Dongguan location in the Chinese province of Guangdong. With its new plant, the manufacturer is also investing in sustainability.

    The new subsidiary is expected to act as a centralized manufacturing facility within Ricoh’s global supply chain ecosystem, enabling a range of productivity innovations in device maintenance and predictive management. Ricoh also aims to improve productivity through motion detection, analyzing trends in process data and eliminating errors. The resulting quality improvements in office systems should take advantage of these digital manufacturing technologies as well as the sales and manufacturing data collected through IoT and the use of robots and other automated systems.

    Investing in your own digital transformation makes Ricoh an agile company that is able to respond to customer needs even faster, By reducing CO2 emissions, the new factory is in line with Ricoh’s goal of achieving the UN’s sustainability development goals, for example by installing solar energy generators, displacement ventilation systems and air conditioning systems, and using natural lighting and ventilation.

    Compared to the Ricoh Asia Industry (Shenzhen) Ltd. factories and Ricoh Components & Products (Shenzhen) Ltd., which will cease operations in May and December respectively, are expected to reduce CO2 consumption in production by at least 70 percent by the end of March 2021. The manufacturer also wants the new plant to produce its flagship multifunctional systems in parallel with Ricoh Manufacturing (Thailand) Ltd. reinforce, which is located in the province of Rayong.
