Three Arrested in Italy for Money Laundering,
Fraudulent Bankruptcy Involving Printer Cartridge Company.

Ravenna, October 7, 2024 – Three individuals have been arrested in connection with money laundering, fraudulent bankruptcy, and tax fraud linked to a Ravenna-based company specializing in the manufacturing and regeneration of printer cartridges and toners. The Guardia di Finanza of Faenza carried out the operation, leading to house arrests and the seizure of two million euros.

The investigation began with a tax audit of the cartridge manufacturing company and uncovered a criminal scheme orchestrated by the suspects. They engaged in fraudulent practices, including the manipulation of corporate transactions and the creation of fake commercial credits with foreign companies in Switzerland and Slovakia.

Authorities discovered that approximately three million euros were obtained through invoices for non-existent transactions from fictitious companies tied to the suspects. This deceptive operation continued even in the months leading up to the company’s bankruptcy, resulting in the loss of over five million euros and significantly harming creditors, including the state, suppliers, and employees.

Following the judicial order, the Faenza Company executed house arrests for the alleged perpetrators and seized various financial assets and properties, ensuring the rights of the affected parties are protected.
