Turbon FY Sales Fall In Tough Toner Market.
Difficult market conditions weighed down 2016 sales for aftermarket imaging supplies manufacturer Turbon.
Hattingen, Germany, For the full year, the Germany-based group reported sales of €96.6 million ($105 million) compared to €107.2 million in FY2015. Pre-tax profit was down 26% on the previous year to €6.5 million.
Sales growth in Europe (up 5.8% to €60.4 million) was more than offset by a sharp decline in the Americas, where sales of $33.5 million were around €13.9 million lower compared to the previous year.
Around 90% of its revenues come from laser cartridges, which has experienced a steep fall in the past year, mostly due to a poor US sales performance, a stagnant market and rising costs.
Although it expects the tough market conditions to continue, the group said it forecasts FY2017 sales to reach €115-€120 million following planned cost reductions.
