International Imaging Technology Council Conference offers twice the fun in Miami Beach
Space Doubled from 2003 to 2004, Exhibition Hall Sold Out
The International Imaging Technology Council (Int’l ITC) has sold out all 236 booths available in the two exhibition halls of the Fontainebleau Hotel. The Fontainebleau is the site of this year’s conference to be held on April 21 to April 23.
The Int’l ITC has also doubled the size of the exhibition floor since last year, and that means more exciting new products and services will be on display.
Attendees at the Int’l ITC Conference in 2003 came from 31 countries and just about every state in the USA. Canada and the Latin American countries made a particularly strong showing.
This year, we’ve extended the conference so that it will be spread over three days to offer more opportunities to enjoy:

• And a host of others related to marketing, service, quality and remanufacturing.Exclusive to the Int’l ITC 2004 Conference: The Rochester Institute of Technology will be back with special programs on ink jet and toner remanufacturing techniques…and some new surprises. The Standardized Test Methods Committee will be moving forward with its new “certified cartridge” logo and program, and will continue to “Train the Trainers” so that more remanufacturers can make use of our industry’s new seal of approval.

International Imaging Technology Council welcomes Northwest ChapterAfter a unanimous vote, a dozen or so remanufacturers from the Northwest chartered Int’l ITC’s first new chapter. The new chapter will encompass the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
New chapter meeting attendees came from throughout the Seattle-Tacoma area, and enjoyed presentations throughout the day by Int’l ITC’s Tricia Judge, QIP’s Martin Stein and OTC’s Lester Cornelius.
The day’s events were capped by the vote to form a chapter. The unanimous vote in favor of creating a chapter led to the selection of officers. Seattle-based AMS Laser & Copier Service’s Bob Burns agreed to serve as chapter chairman. He is joined by two vice chairmen, Gary Walmer from QToner of Auburn, WA and Jeffery Rahming of Rahming LLC of Kennewick.

Int’l ITC launches STMC certification process
The International Imaging Technology Council, working in conjunction with the Standardized Test Methods Committee, has launched a certification program that will allow companies using standardized test methods in product testing to display a STMC logo on their products.
The logo was adopted by the STMC committee in September of this last year at the same time that the STMC voted to work with the ITC to monitor its issuance and compliance program.
The new logo features a certification number that is unique to each certified company, as well as the phone number of the Int’l ITC. This will allow customers to call with concerns or questions about their imaging supplies.
Step by Step to become an STMC Compliant Company1. Get trained. Contact a certified trainer to set up the training. (The list of trainers, equipment and standards are available at http://www.i-itc.org) The trainers are volunteers and do not charge for training. However, some trainers may ask to have their expenses reimbursed.
2. Be equipped. Before the trainer arrives, acquire the test methods and read them, and make sure that you have the necessary training equipment.
3. Get certified. After your trainer has showed you the proper use of the equipment and test methods, he will send a report to the STMC committee chairmen that attests to your training and ownership of the correct testing equipment. He will also instruct you to undertake a test on your own and send the results to the STMC. Those test results will be evaluated for correct test procedures. Upon approval of all of these items, the International Imaging Technology Council will issue a certificate to your company that it is proficient in the use of the test methods.
4. Receive STMC logo. You will also receive instructions on how to receive your logo and registration number. You must submit in writing that you agree to use the test methods routinely and that you agree to use the logo properly.
