Internet Specialists Experiencing Highest Growth within Marking Supplies Channel
CAPV Estimates 22% CAGR for Internet Specialist Channel

(Norwell, MA)… Marking Supplies are distributed through a variety of channels, including office superstores, computer superstores, the BTA channel, warehouse clubs, direct mail catalogs, and hardware vendor direct channels., CAP Ventures details estimates for supplies sales by supply item and distribution channel.

According to the research, inkjet printing supplies are projected to be the leader in terms of sales, increasing from $10.3 million in 2002 to $15.4 million in 2007, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8%.

Marking supplies primarily flow through contract stationers, office superstores, and IP specialists. Nevertheless, an increasing number of end-users are expected to select computer superstores, warehouse clubs, and other consumer retailers for their marking supplies. Consumers are turning to these alternative channels because they offer lower prices and an element of convenience that the other channels may not necessarily provide.

For this forecast period, the Internet specialist channel is experiencing the most growth within the marking supplies arena. This channel will see its final point of sale figures increasing from $0.5 million in 2002 to $1.4 million in 2007, representing a staggering CAGR of 22%.

CAP Ventures’ report is structured into two sections. The first section shows the value of supplies, grouped into a manageable assortment by item and segment, and the proportion of supplies that are sold through the various distribution channels. The second section examines each channel and the value of supplies, by type, that are sold through them.
