Germany’s Lebenshilfe Peine-Burgdorf to Recycle
Six Tons of Toner Consumables for Konica Minolta Every Month.
Beginning in October, Lebenshilfe Peine-Burgdorf will recycle approximately six tons of unsorted consumables for Konica Minolta each month. This initiative underscores the importance of recycling and reusing materials to minimize environmental impact. Konica Minolta Germany generates about six tons of unsorted consumables monthly, primarily from technicians replacing toner cartridges during customer visits, as well as from customers themselves.
Through this partnership, Lebenshilfe Peine-Burgdorf will sort the consumables by type, dismantle toner cartridges, and prepare them for potential refills, ensuring all materials are recycled. To safeguard employees from any health risks associated with toner dust, Denios, a provider of workplace safety and environmental protection solutions, will supply specialized extraction tables.
“We are committed to continually reducing our environmental footprint, recognizing that it’s an ongoing journey. We are excited to take another significant step toward sustainability with this new initiative,” says Daniela Rak, Head of ESG at Konica Minolta Germany and Austria.
Lebenshilfe Peine-Burgdorf assists individuals in need and their families, enhancing their quality of life and facilitating their participation in various aspects of society. As part of the collaboration with Konica Minolta, eight individuals receiving support will actively participate in the recycling efforts.
